According to reports, WWE could be set to change up the announce teams ahead of SmackDown Live’s move to the Fox Network in 2019.
The move is set to see WWE make a whooping, $1 Billion and therefore the company will be taking SmackDown more seriously because of that financial investment, and Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio discussed the possibility that the company will shake things up as far as the announcing team goes. You can see his comments below with a H/T to Ringside News for the transcriptions.
“I don’t know what those changes will be but I wouldn’t be surprised if the announcers change. You know because usually when they do those things they always think of the announcers and probably maybe they’ll do those cosmetic things that they do, they’ll move the announcers to a different spot, they’ll shoot different angles.”
WWE Superstar, Daniel Bryan recently spoke with Sports Bible about his WWE in-ring return and in the interview, he discussed who he wants to face next, with one name, in particular, is at the top of his list.
“I want to work with everybody. When I look at the roster of Smackdown Live specifically: Shinsuke Nakamura – yep! Samoa Joe – of course. Andrade Cien Almas – sure! I did the match with Rusev – it was the first match we had ever wrestled each other before. I’ve been wanting to wrestle Rusev for a long time.
“I also think there’s something there with me and Roman Reigns, somewhere down the line. I just feel there’s something there.
“And the big match that I always say – I really want to wrestle Brock. I’ve been wanting to wrestle Brock for years, when I came back from my neck surgery in 2015, it was the match that I wanted. I’m sure Brock doesn’t want it, he doesn’t care!
