Women's title match set for AEW Fyter Fest

Women's title match set for AEW Fyter Fest

A women’s title match has been announced for Fyter Fest.

While conducting an interview with Britt Baker on tonight’s program, Tony Schiavone announced on Dynamite that champion Hikaru Shida would face Penelope Ford. Baker said that Ford only got the title match because she was injured. The segment ended with Big Swole behind the wheel of Baker’s motorcar. She drove away, with Baker later being found inside a dumpster.

Ford pinned Shida in a tag team title match last week, setting up a future title match. Shida defeated Nyla Rose to win the championship back at Double or Nothing.

Already announced for Fyter Fest is Chris Jericho vs. Orange Cassidy, a TNT title match between Cody and Jake Hager, Kenny Omega & Hangman Page defending the Tag Team titles against Best Friends, and Jon Moxley defending the AEW World championship against Brian Cage.

This year’s Fyter Fest will be a two night event, starting on July 1 and concluding on July 8.
