Woman Fatally Shot In Worth On 111th Street

WORTH, IL — A woman was fatally shot Saturday afternoon in Worth. Police say the shooting appears to be an isolated incident.

Worth police officers responded to a call of a person in need of assistance on the 6800 block of West 111th Street. When officers arrived they learned that the woman had died of a gunshot wound, said Chief Timothy Denton.

An investigation by the Worth Police Department and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force is ongoing.
