by William Bibbiani: "It’s hard to make an original gangster movie nowadays, and The Outsider doesn’t seem to have tried very hard. It takes extremely familiar plot points and plays them straight, adding nothing new except the premise – a white American joining the Yakuza – which ultimately has very little to do with how the story unfolds. The film might be a functional crime drama but it’s an incredibly unremarkable one. People who are new to the genre might appreciate The Outsider, but people who are new to the genre also have much better films they can start with than this Netflix Original. Some of those films are even on Netflix."″,”height”:720,”width”:1280,”url”:”https://assets1.ignimgs.com/2018/12/18/the-outsider-1545165647045.jpg”,”styleUrl”:”https://assets1.ignimgs.com/2018/12/18/the-outsider-1545165647045_{size}.jpg”,”credit”:””,”objectRelationName”:””,”objectRelationUrl”:””,”albumName”:”Worst Reviewed Movies of 2018″,”relativePosition”:”02″,”albumTotalCount”:27},{“caption”:”Read the full review by William Bibbiani: "You won't lose yourself in this haunted house, even though that was supposed to be the whole point.
