Updates for Lesnar & CM Punk in UFC, News on Ronda Rousey in WWE

It has been rumored for a while now that Brock Lesnar will be leaving WWE not long after this year’s WrestleMania in order to make a UFC return. Lesnar failed USADA’s drug testing policy prior to his UFC 200 fight in 2016, leading to his victory over Mark Hunt being overturned. He was fined $250,000 and was suspended for one year. Despite this, UFC President Dana White recently told the New York Post that Lesnar could absolutely be on his way back to the company for more fights. White also noted that UFC would welcome Lesnar back if he ever did decide to return. With Lesnar’s contract reportedly expiring later on this year, it’s now or never for a possible MMA comeback.
Dana White also discussed the possibility of CM Punk getting back into the octagon for another fight. CM Punk achieved great success in WWE before he infamously walked out on the company back in 2014. He then competed in his first UFC fight against Mickey Gall, which saw Punk lose via rear naked choke. When asked by the New York Post if Punk will be coming back to UFC, White confirmed that Punk will get another chance at some point in the future. “He wants one more. He wants to get another shot. I’m going to give it to him.” said White. Numerous images of Punk training for another MMA fight have surfaced online for months now. It definitely seems possible that Punk could be fighting again real soon.
While Brock Lesnar and CM Punk are two pro wrestling stars who both seem interested in crossing over into the world of MMA, there is one MMA star who seems to be getting closer to joining WWE. Ronda Rousey will reportedly be competing in a match at WrestleMania in New Orleans this April. Adding to the speculation, Dana White confirmed in the same New York Post interview that Rousey will not be returning to UFC. This could be seen as even more evidence that Rousey will begin her professional wrestling career very soon. Ronda Rousey has been spotted talking with Triple H, and despite the company’s denials, several fans still expect her to debut in the women’s Royal Rumble match.
