Tonight’s WWE SmackDown Live marks the first of the new year and to celebrate WWE is bringing back John Cena as the build to the Royal Rumble continues.

No matches have been officially announced by WWE, but the episode is pre-taped and therefore spoilers are available for the show.

John Cena will make his official TV return to the company whilst the fallout of AJ Styles attacking Vince McMahon last week will also be revealed.

As well as that, Rusev’s reign as United States Champion commences and the New Day are set to host a New Year’s celebration.
