BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Paul DeSesso is bringing Christmas cheer to Somerset County once again this year with his “The Grinch Mobile.”
The Grinch Mobile will be making one stop this year at the Bridgewater Promenade at 119 Promenade Boulevard, most likely in the parking lot between Trader Joe’s and Marshall’s.
Families and locals are invited to stop by on Tuesday, Dec. 19 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. to catch a glimpse of The Grinch Mobile.
DeSesso, a native of Warren and resident of Somerset said there is plenty to look at on the mobile.
“Well, the snow machine (a secret ratio of a popular dish soap, 70 percent rubbing alcohol and distilled water) shooting out the back is always a massive hit. The reindeer front end is new. Santa and Mrs. Claus now have the Grinch kidnapped in the back. Santa is popping out of the sunroof. And this year, the lights all around are a red/green combo,” said DeSesso.
Each year DeSesso likes to offer new sights for those that come out.
“I don’t want to bore myself or the people that have already seen the truck. I like to mix it up a bit each time. I don’t think there would be any complaints if I someday had “A Christmas Story” as the theme. Am I right?” said DeSesso.
DeSesso had much success with his Halloween-themed Banned Wagon and got the idea of the Grinch Mobile in 2019 to expand the fun.
While it may seem like an annual commitment, DeSesso is not ready to lockdown that obligation.
“TheGrinchMobile is a very ‘in the moment,’ organic creation each season. I’m not even sure that I’m decorating the truck each year until I’m hit with inspiration. That usually happens two months before the Holiday,” said DeSesso.
