Acts of insensitivity towards other individuals can be seen by humankind every now and then. And sometimes, it transcends to cruelty, leading to ruthless incidents.

One such occurrence has come to the fore from Hyderabad – where a 10-year-old boy was tied before being stripped and tortured by rubbing chilly powder on his private parts.

Shop owner arrested

The accused shopkeeper, Krishna, allegedly took this action as a punishment for the boy, who was guilty of stealing a soft drink.

As per an NDTV report, the accused, who had a shop in the boys’ neighbourhood, has been arrested and charged for this brutal act.

On Monday, the child’s mother complained to the police, revealing that the shop owner took her son to his home’s terrace, stripped him naked and assaulted him after spraying chilly powder on his body.

In a disturbing video that has become public, the boy can be seen weeping and begging while he sits naked and tied up with a nylon string on the neighbour’s terrace, wallowing in pain.

Punished even after apologising

It also appears from the video that the boy’s eyes are hurting, and he is seen rubbing body parts, seemingly due to a burning sensation because of chilly powder.

While the boy can be seen apologising for his act, a man is apparently heard threatening the child for petty theft.

Family of boy furious

The boy’s uncle has accused that he was beaten with a pipe and threatened by the local shop owner.

“Why couldn’t he have informed us or shown us CCTV footage that the boy was stealing from his shop? How can he take him away to his house and beat him up like this,” the furious uncle told NDTV.

While the shop owner said the child often took items from his shop, the boy’s mother said her son has been falsely blamed and indicated that he might have just “touched or moved” a soft drink bottle.
