Sarray leaving WWE, returning to Japan

Sarray is leaving WWE.

Tokyo Sports reported Tuesday evening that Sarray will be leaving WWE after her contract expires. She will hold a press conference on March 13 to announce the resumption of her wrestling career in Japan. Her return match will take place at a ‘Sarreee-ISM’ event on May 16 at Shinjuku Face. Sareee is the name she used prior to signing with WWE.

Sarray signed with the company back in 2020. However, her arrival to the United States was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She made her debut on the March 17, 2021 episode of NXT, defeating Zoey Stark. The following year, when NXT became NXT 2.0, she was given a gimmick where she would transform from a pigtailed schoolgirl to a more glamorous appearance with different hair thanks to a medallion her grandmother gave her.

After making a couple of appearances in NXT UK last summer, her final match was a losing effort against then NXT Women's Champion Mandy Rose on the August 2 episode of NXT. She has not appeared on television since.
