Reason For XFL Return Revealed in Lawsuit, NXT UK Injury Updates

It has now officially been over one year since Vince McMahon shockingly announced that the XFL would be coming back. The football league has remained defunct since 2001, and at the time, it was considered one of McMahon’s biggest flops. However, McMahon confirmed last year that he is trying it again in 2020 with new teams, rules, and ways to reinvent what football games can be. Given the amount of money that McMahon lost with the first iteration of the XFL, plenty of people have been left wondering why the WWE Chairman would go back and take the risk again. While no one can look into the mind of Vince McMahon to know for sure, some new details on the planned relaunch of the XFL have finally been provided.
According to Darren Rovell of Sports Business, a lawsuit was recently filed against the Alliance of American Football, which is headed by Charlie Ebersol. Ebersol and his company are being sued by Richard Vanech p, who alleges that he came up with the idea to create the league, and he also wants 50% ownership in the company. In the lawsuit, it was apparently mentioned that the original plan was to launch AAF under the XFL name after negotiating a $50 million buyout from Vince McMahon. Obviously, McMahon did not sell the XFL and instead decided to bring back the league himself. Charlie Ebersol served as the director for the ESPN 30 for 30 special, which has often been cited as the cause for the launch of the AAF and the revamped XFL.

The NXT UK brand has been heating up over the past couple of months, but unfortunately, it has just been reported that some names associated with the show may have just gone down with injuries. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, two individuals who compete on NXT UK suffered injury scares over the weekend. Mark Andrews was temporarily knocked out during a match, which required him to undergo medical testing. Fortunately for Andrews, it appears that he is doing better know and can probably continue wrestling. Meanwhile, Scottish wrestler Noam Dar suffered an apparent knee injury which could result in him missing months of action. He will continue to be evaluated by doctors until further notice.
