— According to pwinsider.com, Brian James officially stepped down from his position as head writer of Smackdown on Wednesday mainly due to growing frustration at late script changes by Vince McMahon. The report adds that things finally came to a ‘breaking point’ at this week’s Smackdown Live event which caused him to inform the company of his decision to step down.
— James is reportedly not leaving the company but will be re-assigned ultimately into a new role but for now he will be used in various spots including as a road agent at live events or even as a color commentator for live TV.
