Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, the sequel to 2014’s Maleficent, has received a new poster and a fresh release date.

Revealed by Disney, Mistress of Evil will hit theaters on October 18, 2019. The minimalist poster featuring Angelina Jolie as the titular character can be seen below.

The sequel was originally set for a May 29, 2020 release date, but has since been moved up. Jolie will be joined by actress Elle Fanning as Princess Aurora, as well as Michelle Pfeiffer as Queen Ingrith. Other actors include Chiwetel Ejiofor, Ed Skrein, Robert Lindsay and Harris Dickinson. Directed by Joachim Rønning, Mistress of Evil is being written by Linda Woolverton, Micah Fitzerman-Blue and Noah Harpster.

The film is set several years after the first Maleficent, and will continue to explore the relationship between Maleficent and Aurora as they “form new alliances and face new adversaries in their struggle to protect the moors and the magical creatures that reside within.”

In our review of Maleficent, we called the film “Okay” saying “Angelina Jolie shines in Maleficent, but ultimately deserves a better movie.”
