Umran Malik continued to impress with his pace in the white-ball games vs Sri Lanka. After bowling at 155 km/hr in the T20I series, Umran beat his own speed by bowling a delivery at 156 km/hr in the first ODI.
But did he really?

It happened in the 14th over of Sri Lanka’s batting innings when Umran bowled a fast one to Charith Asalanka. Asalanka hit it for a couple of runs and the speed meter showed that Umran reached the 156 mark.
But that was the speed on the Hindi broadcast. But on the English broadcast, the speed was 145.7 km/hr. A major discrepancy of more than 10 km.

Of course, regardless of the actual speed, one cannot take away how well the Jammu and Kashmir pacer bowled to take 3 wickets.
Umran was the highest wicket-taker for India in the match as the hosts won easily to lead 1-0.
