Lashley Still With Bellator? Al Snow Buys OVW, Otunga in New Show

Bobby Lashley made his first WWE appearance in over a decade during Monday Night Raw earlier this week. Lashley received a great ovation from the crowd in New Orleans as he promptly laid out Elias with a vertical suplex. Fans have assumed that this must mean that his MMA career in Bellator has come to an end, and even Dave Meltzer recently tweeted that Lashley will no longer be working for the MMA promotion. However, officials from Bellator have just confirmed that Lashley is still under contract with them at the moment. It is possible that WWE signed Lashley to a deal that will allow him to continue competing in MMA fights, much like the company reportedly just did with Brock Lesnar.

Yes he’s done. He was offered a spot as an alternate in their heavyweight tournament and turned it down. https://t.co/RsECcmLhzD

Fans may remember Al Snow from his time competing in WWE and ECW back in the day, but these days, Snow has transitioned into more of a trainer/producer role in the wrestling business. Al Snow even served as a producer in Impact Wrestling for a number of years, and he is still very much active in professional wrestling. In fact, WDRB 41 has just reported that Snow has purchased WWE’s former developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling. The former WWE Hardcore Champion then told Fite TV that he plans on using the promotion as a developmental center where aspiring pro wrestlers can truly learn their craft and develop as pro wrestlers.

David Otunga has been working for WWE for a number of years, but the former wrestler has been featured in a couple of acting roles as well. The WWE broadcaster was most famously part of WWE Studios’ The Call film starring Halle Berry. It looks like Otunga will be getting another chance to show off what he is made of in front of the camera as he will appear in the new Amazon series “New Dogs, Old Tricks.” The show will be a comedy series following a group of friends struggling in college. In addition to Otunga playing a role on the show, former Impact Wrestling star Jessie Godderz will also be featured in the upcoming series. The show premieres on Amazon this September.
