Since returning from injury in May, top WWE star John Cena has not wrestled domestic house shows, sticking to the Monday Raw TV schedule.

Cena addressed questions about his WWE work schedule Saturday on Twitter, hinting at a mixed approach to WWE and outside gigs.

“I have not ‘earned’ a slower schedule, I have ‘earned’ an opportunity to challenge the limits of work capacity,” Cena tweeted.

“My heart, life’s work, and being has been, is, and will ALWAYS be @WWE @WWEUniverse #HLR #NeverGiveUp #DownSinceDayOne.”

Cena is essentially entering the second phase of his WWE run, where he’s trying to “feel special” for bigger matches. Also, after suffering several injuries during his full-time run on top over the past 12 years, Cena is trying to ensure his longevity as a top special attraction for WWE going forward.
