GFW Officially Announces Network and Digital Expansion Attempts

Global Force Wrestling is in the news yet again. The company has officially announced a wide number of different expansion attempts that they will be attempting to make. The promotion sent out a press release today detailing some new initiatives that they will be taking. One of the announcements was that their TV deal with Pop TV has indeed been renewed for another year as was previously rumored. Furthermore, the company has announced that they are going to be taking some new steps to break through by launching their content through other services. The news posted below was also included in their new press release.
GFW has finally announced that their long-rumored network is going to be launching after all. Much like the WWE Network, GFW is going to be offering their own content and video library on the network for fans to view anytime that they please. It will be called the Global Wrestling Network. They also announced that they are planning to launch their shows on Pluto TV, an over-the-top service that provides free live feeds. Finally, a deal with 7Sports and ran FIGHTING was announced, and it will see broadcasts of Impact return to the countries of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The dates for the launch of the network and Pluto TV streams were not announced.
This news all comes after some distressing stories about GFW were reported this week. The company announced that Jeff Jarrett would be taking a leave of absence indefinitely from his role as Chief Creative Officer. Additionally, it was reported on Sports Illustrated that GFW is “hemorrhaging money” and Anthem could be getting ready to sell the company. With all of these amenities announced, it should be interesting to see what the story is with Anthem and GFW as the weeks continue.
