Epic Games has announced that owners of the newest iPhones can now enjoy Fortnite at 60fps, while Android users are still capped at 30fps.
Fortnite update 6.31 dropped yesterday, but it seems that an important note for mobile users was missed. Epic PR guy, Nick Chester, hopped onto Twitter to spread the good word, tweeting that owners of the “iPhone XS/XS-Max/ XR” can now play at 60fps.
Unfortunately for iPhone X users, Chester added that the option isn’t available.
“Performance is constrained by hardware, and the devices listed and more powerful than the X. That said, the team is always looking at ways to get better performance on all devices all of the time!”

60fps isn’t an option for Android users just yet either, although a Reddit user claimed to have unlocked the option a few months ago, but it was later patched out.
In a statement to The Verge, Epic said that it is “continuing to work on Android optimizations that could allow us to support a 60hz mode some time in the future.”
The three new iPhone models were announced in September and released that month. You can check out our review of the XR right here.

Meanwhile, Fortnite’s next seasonal event is getting closer, with an ice cloud inching closer to the map, suggesting things are about to get chilly just in time for the holidays.
