The quake, which registered a 7.0 on the Richter scale, took place during a six-man tag team match, where Kazuchika Okada, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and Kota Ibushi took on Bullet Club members Yujiro Takahashi, KENTA, and Jay White. The camera and arena visibly shook and the ceiling lights could be seen swaying as the match was stopped and everyone exited the ring.

After the quake, the show stopped as safety checks were made throughout the arena. After about a half hour, the show resumed, but the announcer noted that the show could end early if there were any additional aftershocks. Ibushi won the match in under ten minutes, pinning Takahashi with the kamigoye.

NJPW previously canceled a Road to Castle Attack event in Fukushima back on February 21 due to an earthquake in the area on February 13.

The two semifinal matches in the New Japan Cup, David Finlay vs. Will Ospreay and Shingo Takagi vs. EVIL, are scheduled to take place on this morning’s show. The finals will take place on March 21.
