TUESDAY NEWS UPDATE

WWE
NXT general manager William Regal posted video of an angle where Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly got into an altercation. Cole and O’Reilly brawled after Cole confronted O’Reilly while he was taking part in a jiu-jitsu training session. Regal tweeted: “This was sent to me by the authorities earlier. For the sake of both men’s safety and #WWENXT, this cannot continue. @AdamColePro and @KORcombat will be at the CWC tomorrow night, and I promise steps will be taken to settle this matter.”
After it was announced that the NXT Tag Team titles have been declared vacant due to Danny Burch suffering a separated shoulder, Burch’s tag team partner Oney Lorcan sent out a tweet telling Regal to give him a match against Karrion Kross on tomorrow’s NXT: “Terrible decision Regal. Danny is injured and we all know it’s Kross’ fault. Give me Karrion Kross tomorrow night on NXT or else”
NXT referee Tom Castor underwent surgery yesterday to repair his torn biceps: “Thank you everyone for all the love and support this last week. Whether it was a phone call or a text message or tweet or a Instagram message, you’ll never know how much your words of encouragement uplifted me during this trying time. I am happy to report that , as of this morning, I had successful surgery on my bicep and my road to recovery starts tomorrow. I am not sure how long it will take to get back in the ring but I am more motivated than ever to rebuild myself and get back to what I love! Thank you all again for everything.”
On Twitter, Ric Flair responded to Charlotte Flair’s announcement where Charlotte revealed that testing positive for COVID-19 is the reason she hasn’t been on WWE television recently: “Praying For A Speedy Recovery! You’ve Set The Bar So High. WrestleMania Will Not Be The Same Without The Queen! @MsCharlotteWWE”
While appearing on the Bloomberg Business of Sports podcast, Stephanie McMahon said she doesn’t think there will ever be a person-for-person replacement for Vince McMahon: “I don’t think there will ever be a person-to-person replacement for Vince McMahon. He does too much. The landscape would look different however it shakes out. I do think a lot of the institutional knowledge is important, particularly with regards toward the core content. But it’s also surrounding our business with strong, smart executives. And that’s exactly what we have. So I do think it’s the marriage of institutional knowledge, the incredible production value, the creation of talent IP and storylines and really strong business executives to help us expand. I think it’s a combination of things.”
Cosmopolitan Middle East also interviewed Stephanie.
WWE uploaded the trailer for their WWE Icons episode on Beth Phoenix. The documentary premieres on Peacock and the WWE Network this Sunday.
Bianca Belair spoke to GiveMeSport about wanting her match against Sasha Banks for the SmackDown Women’s Championship to headline WrestleMania 37 night one.
Belair appeared on the latest edition of Women’s Health’s Fridge Tours.
In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Drew McIntyre hyped up his match against Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 37: “There is no one in the industry like Bobby Lashley. His work speaks for itself, and he has all the momentum in the world right now. I’m so excited to have fans back at WrestleMania, and I think people genuinely don’t know what’s going to happen in our match. Lashley has really stepped up and deserves this moment. People are invested, and we are going to give the heavyweight title clash that wrestling is all about.”
McIntyre also spoke about publicly announcing his COVID-19 diagnosis in January: “I’m so proud I could deliver that message while I was WWE Champion. The best way to fight this thing is to wear our masks and stay socially distant. I’m following all the safety protocols to the letter. Sometimes I’m a hermit at home, and I still got it. We are going to get through this; we just need to work together. I’m glad I had the opportunity to speak out and hammer home how serious this situation is.”
Molly Holly told the Talkin’ Sass podcast about why she isn’t interested in coaching at the WWE Performance Center: “Yes they have [asked me to coach at the Performance Center] and I just don’t want to. It sounds terrible but I’m just — I’m so far removed from that world. I don’t want to be this like grizzled, bitter, jaded trainer who is like, I don’t know. They need to have trainers who are passionate about pro wrestling, who love the psychology of it because you can meet certain people on the indies or people who used to work for WWE or people who do work for WWE and they just light up when their creative juices are going and they’re like, ‘Oh, you could do this, you could do that’ and it’s like, those are the kind of people you need to have as a trainer. Even though back in the day, I might’ve had skills or experience as a trainer, I’m not at that place now where I feel excited about doing that type of job.”
Rey Mysterio, Kane, Victoria, and Kurt Angle have been announced as guests for tomorrow morning’s edition of WWE’s The Bump.
Damian Priest is the guest on the latest episode of Metal Injection’s Squared Circle Pit podcast.
WWE’s YouTube channel uploaded Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H from WrestleMania XXX and Victoria vs. Molly Holly in a hair vs. hair match from WrestleMania XX.

Cezar Bononi posted a message asking for help in getting his wife the bone marrow transplant that she needs on April 1: “I usually don’t do this, but desperate times needs desperate actions. My sister in law is a match donor for my wife’s Leukemia treatment, without a bone marrow transplant there is 80% chance of this disease coming back. Brazil’s health system is overloaded because of covid and they are not able to withdraw her bone marrow and send it here before April 27th. The doctors said that my wife needs a transplant on the 1st of April. We applied for a emergency visa and they did not accepted a request for interview. We tried to call the US Embassy in Brazil but they said that they cannot help. If somebody, somehow can help, my family will truly appreciate it. God bless you all.”
Britt Baker is the guest on today’s episode of Renee Paquette’s Oral Sessions podcast. Baker discussed Adam Cole’s reaction to her Lights Out match against Thunder Rosa: “As soon as we got to the back, they’re taking the tacks out and he was texting with Jeff Jones. He went to grab the phone to FaceTime, I’m covered in blood, and Jeff was preparing him, ‘She’s okay.’ He was so happy. He actually watched the match when it was playing when he was backstage at NXT. He does not miss a big moment. He was watching on his phone. His text almost made me cry. He said, ‘Britt, you literally made history. This is one of the best women’s matches I’ve ever seen. One of the best gimmick matches period,’ and just saying how the match will always be remembered. That was really what I wanted more than anything; to put out something people would remember and would go down in the history books. The first of anything will always be remembered, but something that draws true emotion out of people, and that’s what they remember, not because it was the first, second or third something.”
Thea Trinidad (formerly known as Zelina Vega) tweeted about Andrade after he had his release request granted by WWE: “Since the moment I met you, I knew that you not only were an amazing person but also one of the most talented in this business and you’d be successful no matter what. I’m so grateful to know you, share these memories and have a brother for life. Love you hermano #TranquiloForLife”

Maki Itoh has gotten her Twitter account back after it was hacked last week.
