State champion Sam Stoll of Kasson-Mantorville has committed to attend the University of Iowa and wrestle for the Hawkeyes following his senior season.
Stoll won the Class AA heavyweight state championship this past season as a junior. He placed third as a sophomore and was runner-up as a freshman.
Stoll has also had great success in USA Wrestling competition. He placed third this past summer at the Greco-Roman FILA Junior World Championships at 120 kilos. Stoll was runner-up this summer in Fargo in Junior Greco-Roman competition and he place third in 2012. in 2011 he was a Cadet National Champion in Freestyle and Greco-Roman.
He currently has a 156-23 high school record and is the 11th-ranked Class of 2014 recruit by InterMat. He will compete at heavyweight in college.
