ENGLAND STAR MAKO Vunipola will miss the rest of England’s Six Nations campaign after being ruled out for 10 weeks with an ankle ligament injury.
The 28-year-old loosehead prop suffered the blow in the 44th minute of England’s crushing win over France on Sunday, and is now also a major doubt for Saracens’ Heineken Champions Cup quarter-final with Glasgow on 30 March.
A man-of-the-match display in Dublin saw Vunipola make 27 carries and 11 tackles against Joe Schmidt’s Ireland, and he appeared to have picked up where he left off in the first half against France at Twickenham.
England will now have to do without one of their key figures, however. Saracens have confirmed that Vunipola will begin his rehabilitation back with his club.
He previously missed out on England’s November internationals with a calf injury.
Vunipola has appeared 56 times for England since making his debut against Fiji in November 2012, scoring one try.
