“Having grown up in Michigan, the history and topography of New England is a marked change from the relatively ‘newer’ structures and flatter landscapes in the Midwest,” she told Patch. “Whether it be the centuries-old hand-set stonewalls which serpentine through Connecticut towns, markers of the original Post Road set by first postmaster Ben Franklin or charming homes built in the earliest days of the Colonial era, I have a great appreciation for the charm and history of the Nutmeg State.”

Beiles has been the main photographer for Connecticut for the New York Times since 2013. One prime example of her work is the 2020 piece “Stonington, Conn.: A Waterfront Community With a Colonial Vibe,” which highlights the area’s 18th- and 19th-century architecture.

Her book includes 52 images selected from her portfolio, including 23 New England locations like Watch Hill and Madison. It also includes images from “the misty hills of Virginia horse country at dawn to the bustling bike filled streets of Copenhagen to the exclusive enclaves in quaint New England seaside towns, the photos in this incredibly designed perpetual planner will transport you weekly to some of the most beautiful scenes the world has to behold,” according to a description of the book.

Each page of the planner is also paired with inspirational quotes from “an eclectic collection of voices ranging from Walt Whitman to Marcus Aurelius to Maya Angelou.”
