FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Augustana College wrestling team finished 1-2 at the NWCA/Cliff Keen National Duals after a 24-13 loss to No. 10 Lindenwood University on Friday. The Vikings record dropped to 7-4 on the season.
TJ North, ranked first in 125 pounds, started Augustana off with a three point advantage with a 3-0 decision over Marcos Rios-Tamayo of Lindenwood.
Hunter Haralson responded in the 133 pound bout with an 11-9 decision over Morgan Engbrecht. At 141, Jeremiah Peterson won a major decision of 15-3 over No. 2 Kyle Webb. The Vikings jumped ahead 7-3, while Peterson finished with a 3-0 record on the day, behind two major decisions and one decision.
No. 3 Terrel Wilbourn won a major decision of 15-4 over Jacob Anderson in the 149 pound bout to tie the match at seven apiece. Bradyn Neises (157 pounds) pushed the Vikings score to 10-7 with an 8-4 decision over Colton Orlando.
Lindenwood’s Kyle Jolas (165 pounds) put the Lions back in the lead with a technical fall of 18-0 over Shawn Hatlestad. In the 174 pound bout, Parker Swanson responded winning by a decision of 6-2 over Batchuluun Zulkhuu to put Augustana ahead by one, 13-12.
Lindenwood took the final three bouts starting with the 184 pound division where John McArdle pinned Logan Henning in 6:23, followed by No. 2 Kenny Breaux winning a 7-4 decision over No. 4 Jayd Docken in the 197 pound weight class.
The Lions Jacob Borgmeyer closed out the heavyweight bout with a 5-2 decision over Michael Lowman to close out the dual 24-13, in favor of the Lions.

Augustana wrestling defeats Central Missouri, 21-16
Augustana took six of the 10 bouts, winning their first dual of the day 21-16 over Central Missouri Friday afternoon.
No.1 TJ North started Augustana off on the right foot with a six point advantage winning by a forfeit at the 125 pound division. Central Missouri’s Malacai Collins put the Mules on the scoreboard with a decision of 11-6 over Morgan Engbrecht.
Jeremiah Peterson posting his second win of the day, winning by a 14-9 decision over Zadac Lankford at 141 pounds to push the Vikings ahead 9-3. Frank Cagnina, ranked second at 149 pounds, won by a major decision of 14-2 over Jacob Anderson to only trail Augustana by two, 9-7.
At 157, Logan Cairer notched a 9-2 decision over Bradyn Neises to control the dual with a 10-9 advantage. The Vikings regained focus taking the next four out of five bouts, starting with Shawn Hatlestad (165 pounds) taking down Josh Thomson with a 5-2 decision to regain the lead, 12-10.
The Mules narrowed the gap by leading 16-12 with a decision win at 174 pounds, followed by Augustana responding taking the last three bouts. Logan Henning (184 pounds) took a 3-0 decision over Michael Boyd to trail Central Missouri by one, 16-15.
No. 4 Jayd Docken kept his record clean with a dominating 5-2 decision win at 197 pounds to jump back ahead 18-16. With the dual on the line, Michael Lowman stepped up and gave the Vikings the victory of 21-16, delivering an impressive 6-4 decision win against the Mules De’quence Goodman.

Augustana wrestling falls to #11 Central Oklahoma, 19-16
After grabbing an early lead, Augustana College lost 19-16, to No. 11-ranked Central Oklahoma on Friday morning.
No. 1 TJ North (125 pounds) got the Vikings off to a 3-0 start with a 6-1 decision over Zach D’Amico. In the 133 pound bout, Central Oklahoma’s Dustin Reed won by a 8-3 decision over Morgan Engbrecht to tie the dual at 3-3.
Jeremiah Peterson (141 pounds) pushed Augustana ahead 7-3 with a major decision of 14-5 over Will Steltzlen. The Bronchos responded by winning the next three bouts with Spencer Rutherford pinned Jacob Anderson in 2:32 at the 149 pound bout, followed by Central Oklahoma’s Jeromy Davenport winning by a 10-7 decision at the 157 pound bout.
At 165 pounds, Chris Watson, ranked first in NCAA Division II, won by a major decision of 11-0 over Shawn Hatlestad to push the Bronchos ahead 16-7.
Parker Swanson (174 pounds) brought the Vikings’ back within six at 16-10 earning a 9-2 decision over Dylan Harmon. Central Oklahoma’s Caleb Hawes won by a 7-1 decision over Logan Henning in the 184 pound bout.
Trailing the Bronchos 19-10, No. 4 Jayd Docken (197 pounds) pulled Augustana within six points with a 3-0 decision over John Finn with one bout remaining. In the 285 pound bout, Michael Lowman won by a decision of 1-0 over Kyle Factor.
Both teams won five bouts, but an early pin from No. 11 Central Oklahoma propelled the win over the Vikings, 19-16.
