In this week’s Wrestling Observer Newletter, our Dave Meltzer reported that AEW is set to return to Jacksonville, Florida, on Wednesday, May 6th.
The new details as of Thursday, according to Melzer, is that stretch will last three weeks, alternating between live and taped.
The May 6th Dynamite will air live with the following week’s show also filmed on the 6th. Then, the May 20th Dynamite will return to live with no plan as of now for what happens after that.
As of now, the May 23rd Double or Nothing pay-per-view will also be held in Jacksonville.
Returning to their homebase recently became an option as the state adjusted their executive order to make pro sports and media production essential businesses, opening up the door for WWE to resume taping at the Orlando, FL, based Performance Center and for AEW to resume at Daily’s Place.
While WWE initially made the call to resume their three live shows a week, they changed that approach last week and are doing multiple tapings at a time starting this weekend, reducing down travel for its talent. They are also building up to their own next pay-per-view Money In The Bank which will feature a cinematic style approach to their main matches filmed at their Stamford, CT, offices.
