When the Hardy Boyz returned to WWE at Wrestlemania this year, it made for one of the most memorable moments on the entire show. The team won the Raw Tag Team Championships, completed their “Expedition of Gold,” and received one of the greatest ovations of the show. It is being reported now though that the Hardys were almost joined by someone else. This week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter revealed that both Hardys pushed for Jeremy Borash to come to WWE. This makes sense as Borash played a role in creating the “Broken Universe,” and directed most of their Final Deletion-esque segments. After becoming lead announcer of Impact and having other projects, however, Borash obviously decided to stay where he is.
In other news, it’s being said that Anthem has been paying the talent of Impact on per-appearance deals right now. When Impact was owned by Dixie Carter, stories about talent and production staff being payed late were constantly in the news. Now Anthem pays the talent for one date, this is being done in case they ever have to tape multiple shows in one night. Anthem has also been happy with the ratings they’ve received since returning to television over in the UK. Overall, it’s being said that Anthem is very much in charge now and has not been taking their investment lightly.
Impact is also continuing to reach out to former TNA stars, as well as some possible new ones, to come to the company. Alberto El Patron and Paige also had an argument that was said to be a “really bad” one during the day of an Impact taping. It was also noted that the two of them have worked things out and that everything was fine the next day. Anthem and the Jarretts are pushing real hard to “make Impact great again,” but they still have a long way to go. Paying talent and staff on time is one way to get there, and it will be interesting to see what happens to the brand in the near future.
