Keith Lee on NXT Tonight, Rumored SummerSlam Tag Match, Mysterio

Keith Lee has been crushing the competition on the independent circuit for years now, and he emerged as a true standout performer before WWE took an interest in signing him. After competing at WWE Fan Axxess and appearing at NXT Takever: Chicago, several fans assumed that it was only a matter of time before Lee signed a deal with WWE. Sure enough, the company confirmed Lee’s signing as a member of the NXT roster earlier this summer, and he will be making his official WWE televised in-ring debut during NXT tonight. Fans of “The Limitless One” should tune into tonight’s show on the WWE Network as it will mark the first appearance in what may be a fantastic NXT career for Keith Lee.

Most of the matches for this year’s SummerSlam pay-per-view are set and ready to go, but there is still room for a few more matches on the card. As seen on SmackDown over the past few weeks, the Rusev Day trio has been feuding with Andrade “Cien” Almas and Zelina Vega lately. According to the No Holds Barred podcast on Barn Burner, WWE is currently setting up a mixed tag team match for SummerSlam that will see Rusev and Lana team up to take on Almas and Vega together. That match still has yet to be confirmed by WWE, but that will likely change sometime between now and the final episode of SmackDown before SummerSlam, which will be airing on the USA Network this Tuesday night.

WWE and Rey Mysterio have been working together all year, which has brought on Mysterio’s inclusion in the Royal Rumble match and the WWE 2K19 video game this year, but the company is reportedly still hopeful that Rey will sign a deal that will make him exclusive to them very soon. During an interview with The Miami Herald, the former WWE Champion provided an interesting update when he claimed that talks are still ongoing, but not much progress has been made so far. Mysterio will be working the All In show on September 1st, but his number of independent wrestling commitments remains relativity clear after that. Perhaps Rey Mysterio will join WWE again soon enough, but for right now, he says that “nothing is secure, yet.”
