Spider-Man and Mysterio fight together as allies against Hydro-Man in the first trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home. While the trailer wasn’t released online following Sony’s panel at Brazil Comic Con in Sao Paulo, IGN Brazil was there to watch it and provided this breakdown of what happens in it.
Tom Holland and Jake Gyllenhaal also surprised fans with an appearance at the Far From Home panel. They were not expected to attend, but they showed up to help present the first trailer for the upcoming Sony-Marvel movie. Filming was not allowed in the convention hall and there is no date yet for when the trailer will be released online, so our rundown below will have to hold you over until the trailer drops!
The trailer begins with Peter Parker (Holland), Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), and Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau), who tries to flirt with May. Peter is going on a school trip to Europe with Michelle/MJ (Zendaya) and Ned (Jacob Batalon), and, while packing his clothes, he leaves his Spider-Man suit at home. His objective is to go overseas and just take a brief rest from his life as a superhero.

The group goes to Venice, Italy, sees the canals, and there is some sort of budding romance between Peter and Michelle.
Soon after that, we see Peter in a hotel room with Ned when a mysterious person suddenly appears and shoots a tranquilizer dart at Ned. It is Nick Fury, who is calling on Spider-Man for a mission.
Several new uniforms are presented like the Stealth Suit (similar to the Noir Suit) and the classic uniform with the spider webs under the arms.
At the end of the trailer, Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio makes his entrance to help Spider-Man against a new enemy, Hydro-Man, in a breathtaking sequence. Yes, it looks like Spider-Man and Mysterio are going to fight together in this movie!
The sequence sees Hydro-Man emerge from the Venice waters and attack the Italian city in a sequence full of explosions, screams and chaos. Spider-Man starts to fight him but gets into a little trouble and that’s when Mysterio appears to help him at the end of the trailer.
It should also be noted that, in the trailer at least, Mysterio wears his armor but not his distinctive fishbowl helmet. He also appears to work in some capacity for Nick Fury.
Holland mentioned during the Q&A session of the panel that Spider-Man and Mysterio team up to stop the Elementals. In the Marvel Comics, they were ancient extradimensional beings with power over nature who have been on Earth since before Atlantis. Their members have included the likes of Hydron, Hellfire, Zephyr, and Magnum.
There was also no mention of the events of Avengers: Infinity War in the trailer.
The Spider-Man: Far from Home panel began on a funny note with Jacob Batalon addressing the audience. He then received a call from Tom Holland, who told him that he was in Brazil. He then proceeded to essentially break into the panel. Holland, Gyllenhaal and Batalan went on to discuss the film to the huge audience of fans.
