Announced at the Kinda Funny Games Showcase, Conan Unconquered is the first ever strategy game set in the brutal and unforgiving world of Conan the Barbarian.
Developed by Command & Conquer and Dune 2 veterans at Petroglyph and published by Funcom, Conan Unconquered will have players building strongholds and assembling armies to to fight waves of enemies that will continuously increase in number and difficulty.
Conan Unconquered can be played entirely in single-player or with two players in online co-op where players can build a shared stronghold and defend it together.
Gameplay will occur in real-time but can be paused to issue commands or construct new buildings. Players will have to manage, alongside brutal and bloody battles, problems in their strongholds that include raging fires and piles of corpses that may spread further death and disease.
Players will have to manage resources be defending their stronghold against giant snakes, scorpions, necromancers, flying demons and so much more.
As players progress through the game, legendary heroes, including Conan himself, will be able to be unlocked and each posses special abilities and can be equipped with unique artifacts that can be found around the world.
Prior to Conan Unconquered, Funcom developed and published Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures and Conan Exiles.
In our review of Conan Exiles, which released earlier this year, we said that it “captures the brutality of the source material, but weak combat and grindy crafting make it an often slow and arduous survival game.”
Conan Unconquered will be released on PC in Q2 2019.
