NFCA launches weekly ‘On Deck’ podcast Wednesday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The NFCA is launching a weekly podcast to help coaches be the best they can be by listening to a member coach, expert in the field or another individual or group share their knowledge of a specific topic.

The podcast becomes available on Wednesday, Jan. 17 with University of Alabama head coach and NFCA Hall of Famer Patrick Murphy talking about setting the stage for a successful preseason.

Other early guests included North Dakota State head coach Darren Mueller on creating competition in the preseason and Arkansas assistant coach Matt Meuchel on using practice statistics to set a batting order. Coaches in all NFCA member groups will be among the featured guests in upcoming podcasts.

“Education is one of our main NFCA pillars,” NFCA Executive Director Carol Bruggeman said. “Our goal is to provide fastpitch coaches the best education in the country and to do so in a variety of ways. We are thrilled to introduce the ‘On Deck with the NFCA’ podcasts. Coaches are people on the go and our podcasts will provide the opportunity for coaches to listen and learn from their office, the field, the bus, the plane or anywhere in the country.”

“Join us each week to learn from top-notch speakers as they share insight on interesting, relevant topics. Director of Education Joanna Lane has hit a home run with our newest educational platform.”

Past episodes of “On Deck with the NFCA” will be available to listen to at any time by choosing the podcast link online at NFCA.org, while new episodes, topics and guests will be regularly announced via the NFCA’s online newsletter and social media accounts.

Anyone with a suggestion for an upcoming topic or guest can submit their ideas to Lane via email at [email protected].
