Stolen U-Haul Truck Found In Livingston, Man Arrested: Police

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Livingston police made two motor vehicle-related arrests on the same day last week, one of which involved a stolen U-Haul truck, authorities announced Tuesday.

The Livingston Police Department released the following details about the arrests, which took place on March 29:

U-HAUL TRAILER – “At 4:07 p.m., two Livingston detectives observed an out-of-state enclosed U-Haul trailer parked at the Livingston Mall. Further investigation revealed that the U-Haul was stolen out of Old Bridge. The individual in possession of the trailer, Ismael Chitou, a 49-year-old male out of Livingston, was arrested and charged on a summons with receiving stolen property, released and given a returnable court date at the Essex County Courthouse.”

STOLEN CAR – “At 6:21 p.m., a Livingston officer conducted a traffic stop on a Honda HR-V registered out of New York. The vehicle’s license plate was stolen out of New York City. The vehicle was operated by Shantaye Fuller, a 31-year-old female from Newark. Ms. Fuller was driving on a suspended driver’s license and was in possession of open alcohol containers inside the vehicle. Ms. Fuller was placed under arrest and charged on a summons with receiving stolen property and multiple moving violations with a returnable court date at the Livingston Municipal Court.”
