Officer Shot, Shooter Killed In Delaware County: Authorities

CHESTER, PA — A Chester police officer was shot and the shooter was killed Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

The officer is recovering at a local hospital and is expected to be released soon, according to the Chester Police Department. The suspect was also shot and pronounced dead.

The shootings occurred at about 3:30 p.m. on West 14th Street and Arbor Drive, police said. The officer had been attempting to pull over a car for a prior incident, but the driver led police on a short pursuit, according to CBS Philadelphia.

The suspect got out of his car and started shooting, and the officer fired back, CBS News reported.

The officer and suspect haven’t been publicly identified.
