TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit says the victim of the shooting at Bonita Terrace Thursday morning died at 8:50 p.m. Thursday night as a result of his injuries.

Captain Marty Sellers said the victim’s family has requested his identity be withheld until the entire family has been notified.
What’s more, the attempted murder charge against 40-year-old Talina Howze, has been upgraded to murder, with bond to be set by a judge.
As Patch previously reported, the shooting occurred at Bonita Terrace Apartments in the 1300 block of Hargrove Road, with Tuscaloosa Police Department officers responding at approximately 2:45 a.m.
Investigators said the initial 911 caller informed dispatchers that a male was shot and laying in the street.
Sellers then said when police arrived at the apartment complex, they found a 44-year-old male with a gunshot wound laying in the street near Building 58.
The injured man was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center, where he was treated for his injuries but ultimately died in the hours following the shooting.
Sellers said investigators interviewed witnesses who described an altercation between the victim and a female who later was identified as Howze, during which she allegedly pulled a gun and fired at the victim multiple times.
Sellers then said, at this time, there is no indication of a prior relationship between Howze and the victim.”
