In case you missed it, this week’s episode of WWE NXT featured an incredibly technical, neck-and-neck match between KUSHIDA and Drew Gulak.

The two stars traded counter-for-counter and submission-for-submission throughout the contest, seemingly a perfect mirror match for one another until the former NJPW junior heavyweight Ace surprised the 205 Live Superstar by countering a lariat into a unique pinning combination to narrowly sneak out the victory.

Cameras caught up with Gulak after the match on Wednesday night to ask him about coming up short yet again after a virtually flawless performance, leading to a challenge being thrown down to KUSHIDA in the form of a Submission Match.

It’s not clear when that match will take place, but with the card finalized for this Saturday’s NXT Takeover XXV special, it’s likely we’ll see it on an upcoming episode of NXT television. Check out the video below to watch Gulak’s challenge.
